Would you like to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but don’t know where to start? Maybe you are intimidated by climbing on the mat with people who have been training for years. The good news is, you can ease your mind – BJJ is a gentle art. Although it looks intimidating, it is a gentle art that doesn’t involve hitting and involves many techniques. As part of my training, I designed a program for beginners. This program will teach the beginning students techniques, principles, etiquette, and many types of grips used in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It will also provide them with a formal training structure and help set the foundation for their training.
The Beginner Program introduces students to BJJ slowly and prepares them for entry into the Intermediate Program (the level after the beginner).
The Advanced Curriculum is primarily focused on sports BJJ with the Gi and No-Gi Classes. If the student wants to train self-defense, they may come to the fundamentals classes until the level of Blue belt is attained. After Blue Belt, Students are encouraged to test for TRU Blue Belt (Tested, Rated, and University), which mirrors a traditional belt structure. Still, they do not be discouraged if this is not achievable straight away.
