New Breed Training Center is a jiu-jitsu school focusing on the grappling aspect of martial arts. Brought together by a straightforward mission statement, our goal was to be able to bring together a group of friends and change the way we trained. We loved Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wanted an open environment where everyone had a voice. Everyone was able to contribute — as a result, New Breed Training Center was born.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting as self-defense. Many people believe that if they were to get into a fight, they should not be taken down to the ground because it will put them at an immediate disadvantage. Jiu-Jitsu has recently become more popular and is noted to be one of the fastest-growing MMA sports in the United States. The concept of BJJ is that smaller people who are not as strong can defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent. BJJ martial artists can manipulate, subdue, and control their opponents.

Fundamentals class is an opportunity to come and learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a new student without worrying about getting tapped out all the time. This class introduces you to the basic positions found in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and emphasizes how to control and execute submissions and escapes from each position. Whether you are brand new or would just like a refresher on some positional details, this class will provide you with those concepts. Every class starts with an essential warm-up to help you learn how to move your body so that it can perform more advanced complex movements in the future. There is no sparring (positional or free) in this class.
